Coco Robotics partners with Uber to launch robot delivery on Uber Eats in Los Angeles

Partnerships

  • Coco Robotics, a remote-controlled delivery droid developer, has partnered with Uber to introduce droid-based delivery for Uber Eats customers starting in Los Angeles, California.

  • The service aims to provide sustainable and affordable delivery options, with plans to expand to more cities in the coming months.

  • Coco has a fleet of over 1,000 droids and has completed over 300,000 deliveries to date. The company currently operates in various Los Angeles neighborhoods and in Finland, with plans to expand across the US and Europe with “thousands of” additional robots.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Uber has been progressively expanding its autonomous delivery services through strategic partnerships. Since 2021, it has collaborated with Serve Robotics to offer droid-based deliveries in Los Angeles, with plans to scale droid-based deliveries to 2,000 units across multiple markets. Additionally, partnerships with Cartken have enabled Uber to introduce autonomous deliveries in Miami (Florida), Fairfax (Virginia), and Tokyo (Japan). Uber has also trialed ADVs with companies including Waymo in Phoenix, Arizona, reflecting its commitment to incorporating autonomous technology into its logistics operations.
