FLock.io secures grant from Ethereum Foundation for blockchain-driven AI research

Funding

  • FLock.io received an academic grant from the Ethereum Foundation as part of its Academic Grants Round 2024.

  • The grant will fund research into incentive mechanisms for smart contract-enabled blockchain solutions, focusing on optimizing incentive tokenomics mechanisms to deter malicious behavior in the decentralized AI development lifecycle.

  • The company also stated that its AI Arena closed beta is currently underway. In this beta, developers compete to create the best AI models on one validation dataset in a Kaggle-style leaderboard.

  • Analyst QuickTake : This latest funding follows the company's recently closed USD 6 million, indicating a seed round toward further developing the world-first collaborative, decentralized AI training platform with on-chain governance leveraging federal learning technologies. The additional funding indicates a growing interest in developing novel approaches to creating safer and more secure AI development.
