Red Hat launches RHEL AI for GenAI development in hybrid cloud environments

Product updates

  • Red Hat has launched Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) AI, a foundation model platform designed for Gen AI development in hybrid cloud environments. The platform is generally available and can be accessed through a Red Hat subscription.

  • RHEL AI integrates the open-source Granite family of LLMs with InstructLab model alignment tools. It is optimized as a bootable RHEL image for individual server deployments across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. It allows users to develop, test, and run GenAI models for enterprise applications.

  • Red Hat claims that RHEL AI enhances the accessibility and cost-effectiveness of Gen AI by providing a library of free-to-use Granite LLMs and InstructLab tools for fine-tuning models without requiring advanced data science skills.
