Safe Superintelligence raises USD 1 billion in funding to develop safe AI

Funding

  • Safe Superintelligence (SSI), a provider of AI safety solutions, has raised USD 1 billion in funding from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, DST Global, and SV Angel. This funding round brings the company's valuation to USD 5 billion.

  • The company plans to use the funding to acquire compute power and increase its employee base. 

  • SSI was founded three months ago by Ilya Sutskever (former OpenAI chief scientist), Daniel Levy (OpenAI alum), and Daniel Gross (former Apple AI initiatives lead). The company has not disclosed any details on the product it plans to develop.
