Horizon Aircraft, a Canadian aerospace and eVTOL developer, has announced its recent progress in the development of its eVTOL aircraft.
Horizon Aircraft's large-scale prototype, which has undergone hundreds of flight tests and is approaching full transition speed, is expected to achieve full transition speed by the end of 2024. The company is also developing and patenting key technologies, including full-scale propulsion units for its HOVR Wing technology, and a hardware-in-the-loop digital twin for efficient testing.
The company claims its eVTOL aircraft, the Cavorite X7, will offer an estimated maximum speed of ~250 mph and an average range of ~500 mi. Horizon aims to market the aircraft for various applications in medical evacuation, critical supply delivery, disaster relief, and special military missions.
