NavVis, a maintenance and monitoring company in the digital twin industry, has launched the NavVis MLX, a handheld dynamic laser scanner designed for architecture, engineering, construction, and surveying workflows. The device's price starts from GBP 30,900 (USD 40,494) and is suitable for users of all skill levels, ideal for confined spaces or shorter, more frequent scanning on site.
The NavVis MLX features a 32-layer LiDAR sensor combined with SLAM software augmented by Visual Odometry. It captures 640,000 points per second and has a range of up to 50 m. It includes four cameras for high-resolution 270° and 360° imaging, a 5.5-inch touchscreen for real-time monitoring, and compatibility with standard geo-registration tools.
