Zilliz, the company behind the open-source vector database Milvus, has announced a major upgrade to Zilliz Cloud, its vector database solution. The update addresses challenges in scaling GenAI applications from prototype to production.

The update adds vector migration service for data transfer, Fivetran integration for 500+ sources, improved scalability, automated observability, and enterprise security with Auth0 Single Sign-On. Zilliz Cloud can be accessed through their platform.

Zilliz claims these updates will streamline unstructured data management, boost performance, and provide developers with tools to build and manage GenAI applications at scale.

Analyst QuickTake: Zilliz has been steadily expanding its reach and introducing new features to strengthen its position in the vector storage space. By June 2024 , Zilliz grew its global presence to 11 regions through AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud integrations. With the recent launch of Milvus 2.4 in March, Zilliz continues to boost its performance and reliability.
