Oracle has announced generative development (GenDev) for enterprises, an AI-centric application development infrastructure. The new offering aims to provide innovative development technologies and facilitate applications using AI-powered natural language interfaces and human-centric data.
GenDev enables developers to harness AI to generate modular enterprise applications. It allows users to interact with data and applications using natural language, find data based on semantic content, and respond to natural language questions through retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI vector search.
The infrastructure provides expanded support for large language models (LLMs) with integrated connections to LLMs like Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and Hugging Face. It also offers access to NVIDIA GPUs for faster AI data processing and includes features like an Autonomous Database for Developers and an Autonomous Database for Select AI-Synthetic Data Creation.
Analyst QuickTake: Oracle continues to enhance its AI infrastructure offerings. In August 2024, it strengthened its partnership with NVIDIA to provide more advanced GPU solutions, enabling better scalability of AI products for enterprises.
