SweGreen, a Stockholm-based vertical in-store farming startup, has introduced an in-store hydroponic farming system for supermarkets in Sweden and Germany. The system allows fresh produce to be grown directly inside supermarkets.
The company claims that the system can be installed in various sizes, with a 485-square-foot setup producing up to 300 crops per day, while a 130-square-foot installation can grow up to 118 crops daily.
SweGreen claims that its system uses up to 99% less water than traditional farming methods, eliminates the need for pesticides, and reduces transportation emissions.
