Impulse Space, an orbital transfer vehicle developer, has partnered with Space Network Services, a French satellite startup, for geostationary orbit rideshare services.
The partnership allows Space Network Services to launch up to six small geostationary satellites at a time using Impulse's Helios high-energy kick stage and upgraded Mira vehicle. This service enables faster and more cost-effective deployment of satellites to geostationary orbit, avoiding the need for dedicated launches or months-long orbit raising.
Space Network Services plans to use this service for its Kaon satellites, which are designed for sovereign satellite communications systems and increased capacity in congested areas. The partnership aims to lower costs, achieve faster time-to-revenue, and simplify mission operations for satellite operators.
Analyst QuickTake: This partnership furthers Impulse Space's development in its rideshare program. In August 2024 , the company recently collaborated with German small satellite missions provider Exolaunch for the rideshare and also secured a Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) contract from SpaceWERX in August 2024 .
