Mercedes-Benz has announced an upgrade to its DRIVE PILOT automated driving system to enable cars to drive autonomously at speeds of up to 95 km per hour (kmph) on German motorways under certain conditions, up from the current 60 kph limit.
Mercedes-Benz claims this upgrade will enhance the autonomous driving experience for its customers. The company also plans to increase the speed limit to 130 kmph in the future. Additionally, Mercedes has introduced a turquoise light on the front of equipped cars to indicate when the system is enabled.
