Lohum Cleantech raises USD 30 million in joint venture to establish battery recycling facility

  • Lohum Cleantech, an India-based battery recycler has entered a joint venture with battery metals and earth elements recycler ReElement Technologies and American Metals, raising USD 30 million to establish a lithium-ion battery materials processing facility in the US.

  • The funds will be used to set up a 15.5 GWh fully integrated battery recycling, repurposing, and critical material production plant in Indiana, with plans to expand to other locations.

  • The facility is expected to initially cater to over 315,000 electric vehicles annually, create 250 green jobs, and produce critical materials with a purity of more than 99.5% for the US domestic battery ecosystem.
