OpenAI has launched Canvas, a new interface for ChatGPT that provides a separate workspace for writing and coding projects.
Canvas opens a separate window next to the normal chat window, allowing users to generate writing or code directly in the workspace. Users can highlight sections of the work for the model to edit, adjust the writing length using a slider, and request changes such as making text sound friendlier or adding emojis. For coding projects, Canvas offers features like adding comments, explaining code sections, and reviewing code for potential improvements.
The feature will initially be available in beta to ChatGPT Plus and Teams users, and it is planned to roll out to Enterprise and Edu users the following week.
