MicroSalt, a British company developing low-sodium salt for food manufacturers and consumers, has been granted a "Certificate of Invention" patent in China for its "Improved Low Sodium Salt Compositions" technology, now issued as Chinese patent CN114206133.
Moreover, the company has received a notice of allowance for its patent application in Mexico and expects formal issuance after the final fee payment. In Australia, MicroSalt's patent application has been accepted and is expected to be issued after a three-month opposition period.
MicroSalt's patented technology involves a low-sodium salt composition that adheres salt to carrier particles, reducing sodium content by about 50%. The company already holds a US patent (11,992,034) for this technology.
MicroSalt is also reportedly pursuing additional patent applications in various countries, including Canada, Hong Kong, Chile, Japan, Europe, Brazil, India, and Russia, as it prepares for global expansion and increased demand from major B2B partners.
