Chipotle, a fast-casual restaurant chain, has partnered with Vebu and Hyphen to develop two robotic systems for food preparation.
Vebu created the "Autocado," a robot that peels, cuts, and cores avocados for guacamole preparation, while Hyphen developed the "Augmented Makeline," an automated system for assembling bowls and salads. Both systems are being tested in California stores to streamline operations and free up employees for other tasks.
Chipotle invested in Vebu and Hyphen through its USD 100 million venture fund, demonstrating its commitment to integrating automation into its food preparation processes.
