EVgo, the largest DC fast-charging station network operator, and Delta Electronics, a power management company, have signed an MoU to co-develop next-generation EV charging architecture.
The partnership aims to enhance the customer experience, improve reliability, and increase energy efficiency. Key features include advanced software, 400kW ultra-high power dispensers, extended cable length, and dynamic power sharing across up to six charging stations.
EVgo expects to deploy the new chargers by the second half of 2026, to reduce capital expenditure per station by 30% and increase peak power delivery by nearly 20%.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this month , the company received a conditional commitment for a loan guarantee of up to USD 1.05 billion from the US Department of Energy (DOE). The funds were intended to accelerate the expansion of EVgo's fast-charging network across the US, with plans to build approximately 7,500 additional fast-charging stations by 2030. EVgo and the US DOE plan to collaborate on long-term solutions to support EV charging.
