Cloudera, a data infrastructure and analytics company, has partnered with Snowflake, a cloud-based data and AI infrastructure company, to develop an open, unified hybrid data lakehouse for enterprises.
The partnership allows joint customers to access Cloudera's Data Lakehouse via Apache Iceberg REST Catalog, to ingest, prepare, and process their data across on-premise and cloud platforms. Moreover, Snowflake users can query data stored on Cloudera's Ozone directly, while Cloudera customers can utilize Snowflake's Business Intelligence engine without data duplication.
The partnership claims to provide enterprises with a single source of truth for all data, analytics, and AI workloads, reducing the total cost of ownership, simplifying data architecture, and providing managed Iceberg tables.
Analyst QuickTake: This news follows Cloudera's recent product updates, including enhanced metadata management with new integrations and updates and new observability tools for on-premises and cloud data centers.
