Calf launches Visinse VR180 camera at USD 699

Product updates

  • Immersive media company Calf launched the Visinse, a VR180 photo and video camera for consumers, priced at USD 699.

  • The Calf Visinse features 7.2K resolution video recording at 30 fps or 6K at 50 fps, f/2.0 lenses, and internal stitching of fish-eye images into equirectangular format. It includes an IMU for spirit-level display, live streaming capability via Ethernet port, and 32GB internal memory (to be upgraded to 64GB later). The camera also supports an external microphone connection.

  • According to Calf, Visinse offers higher resolution and sharpness than older consumer models. However, early user reports indicate issues with image quality, including strange step patterns in vertical objects and confusion between English and Chinese messages in the user interface. Calf claims that a future firmware update will increase the video resolution to 8K and fix color issues.
