Jetson, a Swedish company developing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has concluded what the company claimed to be the world's first single-seat eVTOL freestyle flight for its Jetson ONE aircraft.
Jetson ONE is a single-seat eVTOL aircraft designed for personal transportation. It has simplified controls similar to driving a car. The eVTOL has a maximum weight limit of 210 lbs and can fly for ~20 minutes on a single charge, with a software-limited top speed of 64 miph. It features an all-aluminum frame, redundant battery propulsion system, high-power electric brushless motor, LiDAR sensor-driven auto-landing system, hands-free hover, and a rapid-deployment ballistic parachute.
Jetson ONE is currently priced at USD 120,000+ and can be pre-ordered on the company’s website. It is expected to be delivered in 2026.
Analyst QuickTake: The Jetson ONE eVTOL was first unveiled in October 2021, following the development of its successful prototype in 2018. The lightweight eVTOL aircraft can be fully charged within one hour and Jetson claims it has an innovative flight control system that enables freestyle flying. Jetson ONE also includes an autoland feature and a parachute system, setting it apart from other eVTOL competitors.
