Hydrogen-electric engine developer ZeroAvia raised USD 150 million in Series C funding. The round was co-led by Airbus, Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital, and NEOM Investment Fund, with participation from UK Infrastructure Bank, Scottish National Investment Bank, American Airlines, International Airlines Group, ITOCHU Corporation, and others.
The funding will support ZeroAvia's development of hydrogen-electric engines for aviation, including the ZA600 and ZA2000 systems. The company also plans to create a manufacturing facility in Scotland.
ZeroAvia has conducted flight tests of its ZA600-engine prototype on a Dornier 228 aircraft and is undergoing certification with the CAA. The company has nearly 2,000 pre-orders for engines and component systems from major airlines and OEMs, with potential future revenue of over USD 10 billion.
