Listing

  • Pony.ai, a China- and US-based self-driving vehicle technology company, has filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in the US. It has been applied to the list on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “PONY.”

  • The company’s revenue grew 2x to USD 24.7 million in 1H 2024 and reported a net loss of USD 51.3 million over the same period (compared to USD 69.4 million in 1H 2023).

  • Pony.ai reportedly operates a fleet of 250+ robotaxis and has accumulated 20.8 million mi of autonomous driving, including 2.4 million mi of fully-autonomous driverless mileage.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The influx of Chinese firms seeking US stock market listings has dwindled in recent years following Beijing's 2021 tightened restrictions on overseas fundraising activities. However, Pony.ai got approval from Chinese securities for a US IPO in April 2024. Chinese regulators have also allowed autonomous vehicle tech firms like WeRide and Momenta to list in the US market.
