TerraCycle, a consumer products recycling company, has acquired North Coast Services, a universal waste collection and recycling specialist based in New Hampshire, for an undisclosed sum.
This acquisition will complement and enhance TerraCycle's US operations, particularly its Commercial Recycling division. The move aims to expand TerraCycle's reach, customer base, and ability to provide comprehensive services for universal waste and other hard-to-recycle materials.
Established in 2011, North Coast Services focuses on identifying and managing Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste. The company specializes in recycling electronics, televisions, monitors, universal waste lamps, and batteries.
Analyst QuickTake: The North Coast Services acquisition follows the June 2023 acquisition of Complete Recycling Solutions, which specializes in using lamp recycling and mercury distillation equipment. Terracycle previously partnered with Casella Waste Systems in October 2022 to launch a pilot for hard-to-recycle home items.
