X-Bow Systems, a supplier of advanced manufactured solid rocket motors and defense technologies, has successfully launched its third Bolt rocket featuring the XB-32 motor, which it claimed was the largest Advanced Manufactured Solid Propellant motor ever flown.
The Commercial Mission-1 (CM-1) flight gathered critical data for analysis and validated motor performance. The Bolt rocket family, designed and operated in-house, uses X-Bow's patented advanced manufacturing technology and digital-twin technology for modular solid rocket motor production.
According to the company, its manufacturing process allows faster design, production, and testing of solid rocket motors with improved precision and scalability. X-Bow is also building the nation's second-largest solid rocket motor factory, which it claims will be completed faster and at a lower cost than traditional facilities.
