Oxa, an autonomous vehicle technology company, has unveiled self-driving versions of Ford E-Transit van and minibus, equipped with “Oxa Driver” autonomous driving software. The vehicles are now available for integration into commercial fleets in the UK and US.
The autonomous E-Transit features standard automotive-grade sensors including cameras, LiDAR, and radar, enabling 360-degree perception and operation up to 35 mph in mixed traffic. The vehicle can be configured as a logistics van or a minibus with up to 10 seats and includes manual controls for non-autonomous operation.
The company uses Reference Autonomy Designs (RADs) for rapid integration of autonomy in vehicles, and validates them through controlled environments, real-world driving, and virtual testing using Spatial AI technology. Oxa claims this approach offers a cost-effective platform for goods delivery and passenger services while maintaining interior space without compromise.
