Vienna-based Revo Foods, a plant-based meat producer specializing in 3D printed food, has partnered with Belgian precision fermentation company Paleo under a EUR 2.2 million (~USD 2.4 million) EU-funded project to advance alternative seafood production.
This two-year project will focus on tailoring Paleo's heme technology and integrating it with Revo Foods' 3D structuring capabilities to enhance the appearance, taste, and nutritional value of plant-based salmon while also reducing its ecological footprint.
Analyst QuickTake: This collaboration is ideally timed to align with the establishment of Revo Foods' " TASTE FACTORY ," which is claimed to be the world's largest 3D food-printing facility, with a monthly production capacity of 60 tons. Similarly, Paleo also opened a new pilot-scale facility in Leven, Belgium, to expedite the production of its animal-free heme ingredient.
