GoodRx, a provider of a prescription savings platform, has launched a new ecommerce solution that allows consumers to order health products and medications directly through their platform with home delivery. The company has partnered with Opill, the first FDA-approved over-the-counter daily birth control pill, as its launch partner.
The new ecommerce platform enables a direct-to-consumer shopping experience, allows ordering of eligible health products without doctor visits, provides home delivery service, and offers integration opportunities for consumer health and pharmaceutical brands within the GoodRx platform.
According to GoodRx, the platform aims to address healthcare access gaps, particularly for over 19 million women living in areas with limited contraceptive services. The company claims this solution will remove obstacles such as high costs and logistical challenges while providing direct access to Over-The-Counter (OTC) birth control without requiring doctor visits.
Analyst QuickTake: Previously, the company partnered with ARS Pharmaceuticals and Sanofi to offer discounted access to the companies’ allergy medication and insulin, respectively. With this launch of its ecommerce platform, the company expands its offerings, offering direct access to Opill. It opens up possibilities for the company to begin offering its other partner pharmaceuticals for a more comprehensive service.
