EHang Holdings Limited, a leading Chinese autonomous aerial vehicle technology company, has completed the initial passenger flights of its EH216-S pilotless eVTOL aircraft at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
The EH216-S eVTOL aircraft can bypass traditional runways and is expected to provide point-to-point transportation within city centers and reduce traffic congestion in Thailand. It can also support island-hopping services, addressing transportation needs in the tourism industry. The aircraft has received type, production, and standard airworthiness certifications for pilotless eVTOLs from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
EHang plans to initiate flight tests in Thailand and start commercial services in regions like Phuket and Koh Samui by 2025.
