Vertical Aerospace, a UK-based aerospace and technology company, announced "Flightpath 2030," the company's strategy to guide the transition from prototype to production. The certification timeline for the VX4 aircraft, previously expected in 2026, has been extended to 2028.
As part of the strategy, the X4 will undergo its first major upgrade by 2030, increasing both range and passenger capacity. This will include two extra seats and extended range, with only minor changes needed to meet certification standards.
With the goal of delivering 150+ aircraft, Vertical Aerospace plans to achieve major production milestones and reach 200+ VX4 units annually by Q4 2030, scaling to over 700 units in the medium term. It aims for cash break-even in 2030, with gross profit margins surpassing 40% while maintaining a zero accident rate and adhering to the highest safety certifications.
