PLD Space partners with Deimos to develop guidance system for MIURA 5 orbital launcher

Partnerships

  • PLD Space, a Spanish private space company, has selected Deimos, an engineering software solution provider for ground systems, to co-lead the development of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) system for its MIURA 5 orbital launcher.

  • This collaboration centers on the GNC system development for MIURA 5's small payload missions, including rideshare launches, with Deimos contributing to software verification and validation. MIURA 5 is scheduled to initiate launches in late 2025 to conduct more than 30 missions annually by 2030 from multiple launch sites.

  • MIURA 5 integrates a reusable first stage with TEPREL-C engines fueled by bio-kerosene and liquid oxygen. It builds on the success of MIURA 1 and shares over 70% of its proven technology.
