HyImpulse Technologies GmbH, a German developer of small orbital launchers, has raised EUR 11.8 million (~USD 12.5 million) in funding through the European Space Agency's (ESA) Boost! program as part of a co-funded extension agreement.
The funding will support the development of propulsion systems, avionics, and structural engineering while enhancing testing and production infrastructure for the Small Launcher 1 (SL1) over the next 18 months.
The SL1 is a 32-meter-tall, 50-ton multi-stage rocket, built to deliver payloads of up to 600 kg into low-Earth orbit at altitudes above 500 km. The inaugural launch is planned for 2026.
