BAE Systems will direct the funding toward expanding its Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) chips production, increasing capacity fourfold at its New Hampshire microelectronics center. Rocket Lab plans a 50% increase in compound semiconductor production at its Albuquerque facility over the next three years, focusing on enhancing the resilience of its space-grade solar cell supply.
BAE Systems Inc. focuses on producing electronics for flight control, electronic warfare, and surveillance. Rocket Lab, through its subsidiary, SolAero Technologies Corp., is one of only two US companies specializing in space-grade solar cells.
