Biotangents, a UK-based livestock diagnostics company, has secured GBP 2.3 million (~USD 2.9 million) in funding led by Eos and British Business Investments through their Regional Angels Programme, with participation from Kelvin Capital and Scottish Enterprise.
The funding will be used to commence on-farm trials across the UK and internationally in late 2025.
The company's technology provides on-farm molecular diagnostic results in less than two hours for dairy cow diseases, addressing issues like bovine mastitis. This costs the global dairy farming industry approximately GBP 20 billion (~USD 25 billion) annually and up to GBP 25,000 (~USD 32,000) per UK dairy farm.
