Waymo partners with Moove to manage robotaxi fleet operations in Phoenix and Miami

Partnerships

  • Waymo, an autonomous vehicle technology company, has partnered with Moove, an African mobility FinTech specializing in vehicle financing, to handle fleet management operations for Waymo's robotaxi service.

  • Under the partnership, Moove will take over fleet operations in Phoenix starting early 2024 and build charging infrastructure and depots for Waymo's Jaguar I-Pace fleet in Miami. This marks Moove's first entry into the US market and autonomous vehicle sector, while enabling Waymo to focus on developing self-driving technology through a driver-as-a-service model.

  • The collaboration will support Waymo's expansion plans in Miami, where the company aims to begin small-scale testing in early 2025 and launch a fully driverless commercial ride-hail service by 2026.
