Anthropic, a developer of AI models and related tools, has launched its latest AI model Claude 3.5 Haiku for users of its AI chatbot platform Claude. The model is now available on both web and mobile versions of Claude, following its initial API release last month.
Claude 3.5 Haiku matches or exceeds the performance of Anthropic's previous flagship model, three Opus, on specific benchmarks. The model excels at coding recommendations, data extraction and labeling, and content moderation and can generate longer text outputs. The model also features an updated knowledge cutoff for referencing recent events.
Analyst QuickTake: While the model demonstrates improved capabilities in text generation and processing, it does not support image analysis, making it less versatile than other available Anthropic models like three Haiku and 3.5 Sonnet. The company initially planned to price it similarly to three Haiku but later increased the API cost, citing the model's enhanced intelligence.
