GuDog, a platform connecting dog owners with dog sitters, announced the acquisition of Host My Pet, a Finnish online pet sitting services company, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is aimed at expanding operations into Nordic countries, starting with Finland, and GuDog’s long-term plan to serve over 300 million pets.

With the acquisition, the combined entity’s 17 full-time employees will serve approximately 650,000 pet owners across Europe. Through the expansion, GuDog also aims to capitalize on the increase in demand for pet care services resulting from the pandemic-led boom in the pet population in 2020 and a gradual recovery in travel.

Host My Pet, founded in 2015, operates through online and mobile platforms, offering similar services to GuDog such as pet boarding, home visits, and daycare facilities.
