99math raises USD 1 million

Funding

  • Estonian firm 99math, a gamified math learning platform, raised USD 1 million in funding led by Genesis Investments, with Change Ventures and angel investors also participating.

  • The funds will be allocated to develop a mobile game for use at home, introduce additional features, increase adoption in classrooms, and monetize the product through the introduction of premium plans for parents.

  • Founded in 2018, 99math is the developer of a multiplayer math game, with students competing with each other in the classroom to increase accuracy and speed. Initially providing competitions for elementary students, the gaming platform launched in beta in 2019.

  • The game-based math platform is currently offered free to teachers and schools with math problems being generated based on teacher preferences, and students playing on their own devices.

  • The platform's key markets are the US and Latin America, and the company has reported more than 300,000 users as of August 2021.
