Amplified Ag, a US-based agritech startup that operates a vertical farming business via its subsidiary Vertical Roots, has raised USD 40 million in equity finance.
The company intends to use the funds to support Vertical Roots with its expansion plans and to further develop its AmpEDGE platform (a complete indoor farm management software solution that is being developed by the company’s other businesses- Boxcar Central and Tiger Corner Farms).
The funding will help Vertical Roots in installing its container farms across North and Central Florida and strengthen the company’s position in the Southeast. Amplified Ag reports that it expects to raise additional finance this year to support Vertical Root’s expansion across the US.
As of date, Vertical Roots operates three farms in South Carolina and Georgia with its vertically grown produce being served at 1,700 grocery stores across 12 states in the US.
