Vow Foods, a cell-cultured meat startup, and Nourish Ingredients, a startup using fermented microorganisms to develop alternative animal-free fat, announced their partnership in working together to produce blended alternative meat products. The two Australian startups believe that bringing together each of their specialized products will produce a more accurate flavor and texture to reflect real meat.
Fat is a key component for both cell-cultured and plant-based meat, which allows the producers to recreate the real texture and meat flavor. Cubiq Foods, Mission Barns, and Hoxton Farms are a few of the startups producing cell-cultured fat, while Melt&Marble along with Nourish Ingredient are developing alternative fats using fermented microorganisms.
