Quantron partners with Ballard to develop fuel cell trucks

Partnerships

  • Quantron, a German developer of both electric and hydrogen commercial vehicles, announced a strategic partnership with Ballard Power Partners, a fuel cell technology company, to develop hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks.

  • The collaboration will integrate Ballard’s “FCmove” heavy-duty fuel cell power modules with Quantron’s electric truck platform. Quantron’s current fuel cell electric truck platforms in development include a 7.5-metric-ton delivery truck, a 44-ton heavy-duty truck, and a municipal waste collection truck.

  • The initial deployment of fuel cell electric trucks is planned for the second half of 2022 in Germany.
