F5, an application and API security company, has announced the acquisition of Threat Stack, a cloud security startup for USD 68 million. The transaction is expected to close during F5’s Q1 FY2022, ending 31 December 2021.

Threat Stack provides the threat detection platform—Threat Stack Cloud Security which protects applications and workloads across hybrid cloud, multi cloud, and container environments, and integrates with Slack to alert DevOps teams on threats. The company currently employs 105 people and serves large enterprises such as Glassdoor, Ping Identity, and Proofpoint; it has raised a total of USD 72.3 million in six rounds of funding to date.

F5 will integrate Threat Stack’s cloud security capabilities, including proactive risk identification and real-time threat detection into its existing solutions, to provide customers with broader visibility and actionable security insights across cloud infrastructure and workloads.
