Meijer, a supermarket chain operating through the Midwest, has introduced “Tally” robots in ten of its stores, to identify missing, misplaced, and mispriced products.
A Tally robot was successfully piloted in a Meijer store earlier this summer, as Meijer states that data will be reviewed to decide whether the robots will be deployed in additional stores.
Tally is a fully autonomous robot designed by Simbe Robotics to conduct shelf auditing at retail stores. The robot is capable of scanning up to 15,000 products three times a day. It was first introduced in 2015 with two upgrades—“Tally 2.0” and “Tally 3.0” introduced in 2017 and 2020, respectively.
