Arctic Wolf, a provider of security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) and managed detection and response (MDR) services, has announced the acquisition of the cybersecurity training and awareness startup Habitu8 for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2017, Habitu8 uses a “Hollywood-style” approach comprising live-action videos to produce cybersecurity training and awareness programs. Habitu8’s learning platform is mainly used by companies with 100 to 500 users each, while its content delivery includes several large businesses, predominantly in the financial services sector, with nearly 250,000 users.
Arctic Wolf’s managed security awareness platform, which is an extension of its security operations platform, uses expert concierge guidance to foster a security culture in organizations. The addition of Habitu8 will further advance its managed security awareness training platform with live-action videos and animated content to strengthen the overall security posture of customers across endpoints, networks, and in the cloud.
As part of the transaction, Arctic Wolf will acquire between 60 and 70 customers of Habitu8, and it has also revealed plans to extend Habitu8’s security awareness platform to include compliance and skills training. The transaction comes on the heels of the company's USD 150-million Series F fundraise in July 2021. It planned to use the proceeds for five to 10 acquisitions over the following year.
