Clara Foods, rebranded as The EVERY Company, has unveiled the world’s first animal-free egg protein. Labeled as EVERY ClearEgg, it is a highly soluble, nearly invisible protein that can be used to boost the nutritional profile of products. The company expects to market the product to food producers in a range of products such as hot and cold beverages, acidic juices, energy drinks, carbonated and clear beverages, as well as snacks and nutrition bars.
The EVERY Company uses a genetically modified yeast protein in the product and uses precision fermentation, and according to the company, the product has been in development for the past 7 years. The company expects to branch its new animal-free egg protein into food and beverage markets. Earlier in 2021, the company released animal-free pepsin that could be used in a variety of food and pharmaceutical products.
EVERY ClearEgg is expected to launch as a co-branded product with BioBrew— a ZX Ventures-backed company, whom EVERY collaborated with, to scale its fermentation process. EVERY product will be sold globally by Ingredion, a leading ingredient provider serving customers in over 120 countries.
