ITM Power, a hydrogen energy solutions developer listed on the London Stock Exchange, has raised GBP 250 million (USD 343 million) to build an electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Sheffield and a new international factory, reaching a manufacturing capacity of five gigawatts per annum by 2024.
The placement was oversubscribed and amounted to 11.4% of existing share capital.
The company plans to deploy GBP 170 million (USD 233 million) for capex and GBP 40 million (USD 54 million) for working capital. A further GBP 50 million (USD 68 million) will be utilized for green hydrogen initiatives.
Analyst QuickTake: The new facility marks ITM Power’s second Sheffield-based electrolyzer factory (located next to its existing facility), which commenced operations in August. The current facility carries an annual capacity of one gigawatt and is considered the world’s largest PEM electrolyzer factory.
