Sunfire, a German electrolyzer developer, has raised EUR 109 million (USD 125 million) in a Series D funding round from a consortium of investors led by Lightrock and Planet First Partners, as well as Carbon Direct Capital Management, HydrogenOne Capital, and existing shareholders.
The new round brings Sunfire’s total funding to USD 174 million. The company expects to use the proceeds to strengthen its position in the green hydrogen market.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this month, Sunfire announced plans to build a large-scale alkaline electrolyzer production facility in Germany with an annual manufacturing capacity of 500 MW by 2023. The facility is most likely to be financed through the proceeds of the latest funding round.</ul>
