LettUs Grow partners with La Serra for tomato propagation trials

Partnerships

  • LettUs Grow, a UK-based company that produces and sells aeroponic container farms, has announced its partnership with La Serra, a commercial greenhouse grower, to launch aeroponic tomato propagation trials.

  • The first trial was conducted at LettUs Grow’s aeroponic research center, and the first round of transplants are currently monitored in La Serra’s greenhouses. They expect the trials to improve the quality and consistency of tomato plant propagation.

  • Reportedly, crops using LettUs Grow’s aeroponic technology grow twice as fast as those using hydroponic systems; the partnership, therefore, is expected to support La Serra in extending their tomato harvesting season.

  • Through the partnership, LettUs Grow will be able to compare its aeroponic-based transplants against La Serra’s standard transplants inside greenhouses and understand different technologies.

  • This partnership follows LettUs Grow’s previous collaboration with Harper Adams University in May to conduct R&D for new technologies and irrigation systems in greenhouses and vertical farming setups.
