Miso Robotics unveils “Flippy Wings,” a robotic chicken wing frying solution

Product updates

 • Miso Robotics, a kitchen automation company, has unveiled its newest product dubbed “Flippy Wings,” a robotic chicken wing frying solution, which it plans to offer through a robot-as-a-service (RaaS) model.

 • Flippy Wings comes equipped with an “AutoBin” system, an array of food-safe bins where products are dropped to be cooked. The robot identifies the food using AI vision technology, upon which it picks up, cooks and drops food off into a hot holding area. The company reports that the robot increases food production speeds by 10–20%.

 • The company began testing the product this fall, teaming up with Buffalo Wild Wings, a restaurant brand owned by Inspire Brands — Miso Robotics lead innovation partner. It also plans to install a unit at Inspire's Alliance Kitchen, a ghost kitchen, for further testing. Depending on the success of the tests, the company plans to install a unit at a standalone Buffalo Wild Wings location in 2022.

 • Reportedly, the company also has several other agreements with national brands, which are yet to be announced.

Analyst QuickTake: Miso Robotics’ other products that are currently in the market include “Flippy ROAR,” a burger-flipping robot offered on a RaaS basis, and “CookRight,” the AI and machine learning-driven cooking platform powering Flippy, is offered as a standalone service. The news comes just after four months the company announced its plans to introduce a beverage dispensing robot, marking its entry into the beverage preparation robotics space. Miso Robotics is the only startup in the restaurant robotics industry offering a range of robotic solutions, as well as a software platform that powers its robots as a standalone service offering.
