Patch Technologies, a startup offering businesses an API-based solution to calculate and offset carbon footprint, has partnered with Doconomy, a Swedish digital banking service provider, to introduce a technology stack for climate fintech.
Through this partnership Patch’s API solutions will be combined with Doconomy’s transaction data, enabling financial institutions to assess the carbon impact and purchase high-quality carbon removals or offsets.
Patch and Doconomy are also working with Mastercard, Rise by Barclays, and New Energy Nexus to support the Climate Fintech Cards & Payments Challenge, enabling startups to demonstrate digital climate solutions. The competition has announced a prize of USD 100,000 and the opportunity to work alongside established financial institutions on proof-of-concept projects.
