CrowdStrike, a provider of endpoint security, cloud security, managed services, and threat analysis and response solutions, has announced the acquisition of SecureCircle, a data security startup, for an undisclosed amount. The all-cash transaction is expected to close during CrowdStrike’s Q4 ending January 2022.
Founded in 2016, SecureCircle provides a SaaS platform that includes data loss prevention (DLP) and endpoint security solutions. The platform continuously monitors the movement of data from applications and repositories to protect against breaches and insider threats. SecureCircle leverages patented transparent encryption to secure data during three states—at transit, rest, and when in use. The company has a headcount of 31 and serves customers in the finance, manufacturing, source code, healthcare, education, government, and media industries.
CrowdStrike will extend zero trust security to data on endpoints by integrating SecureCircle’s technology into CrowdStrike’s Core Falcon platform. This will provide users with data usage policy enforcement and data access management based on their zero trust score and ensure that clients can detect and respond to threats at the device, user identity, and data layer.
