Zwipe, a company offering biometric payment card inlays, has partnered with Reltime, a developer of decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, to issue Zwipe Pay ONE-based biometric payment cards, allowing cardholders to authorize payments with fingerprint recognition.
Reltime will act as the card issuer and will be the first to launch this to a DeFi network globally. The cards are planned for issuance in Europe, Japan, India, Mexico, and Brazil during Q1 2022 and the rest of the world in Q3 2022.
The company noted that the first pilots of the project will be launched in Q1 2022, followed by commercial launches shortly after. Besides delivering the Zwipe Pay One platform, Zwipe will also provide ongoing technical support for Reltime through these stages.
